Mario Kart 8 is a racing (or more specifically, kart racing) game that was developed by Nintendo EAD Group No. 1 and published by Nintendo for Wii U. It is the 8th installment in the series.
Mario Kart 8 continues the traditional kart racing gameplay that originally started in Super Mario Kart (for SNES); the objective being to compete against 12 other racers and race three laps around a given course. Official GP Review - 9 (out of 10)
Jason reviewed the title on GP and gave it a fantastic score, finding that the anti-gravity mechanics made the game a lot more interesting as well as making it the most exciting Mario Kart game to date. He also praised the number of playable courses, as well as their designs, and the seamless online multiplayer. The only negatives he found were the Battle Mode, which did not include arena-like levels but instead used normal tracks, and the inclusion of too many baby characters whose spots could have been used to include other, more unique characters.
Final Say: "Mario Kart 8 is the most exciting kart-racing game in some time and easily the best in the Mario Kart series to date. This game is a must-own for all Wii U owners."
